Soul departing?

When we die our physical body should return to the eatrh[buria] .Because we are made from the elements Air,Fire,Water and Earth our bodies should return and nourish the earth, similar to leaves falling and composting our gardens.But our souls or higher selves at the moment of our death spiral upward to the higher levels of consciousness that we cannot perceive until our karmic debts are repaid thru empathy and understanding .I personally believe that our souls travel to a place I call summerland where we rest until we are strong enough to return to the earth plane to carry on repaying our karmic debt- this is sometimes refered to as the"bardot period" and we forget this period when we enter our mothers womb.This is only my belief but I hope it makes sense to you. Our soul energy cannot be destroyed only upgraded or downgraded according to our actions on earth-unless you commit suicide which destroys our soul essence
